Review: Knox Deployment App

The Knox Deployment App is a valuable tool for enterprise IT admins who utilize Knox Mobile Enrollment (KME), Knox Configure (KC), or Knox Guard (KG) in their organizations. With the latest version, the app now supports Bluetooth-based enrollment in addition to NFC.

Before using the Knox Deployment App, there are a few prerequisites for IT Admins to keep in mind:

1. You must have applied for and set up a username and password for Knox Mobile Enrollment or Knox Configure.
2. Your devices need to support NFC or Bluetooth. Please verify your device specification.
3. You must have at least one profile configured in the Knox Mobile Enrollment or Knox Configure portal.

The following permissions are required for the app service. While default functionality is turned on, optional permissions are not allowed:

• Location: Location permission is necessary to obtain the AP list.
• Nearby devices: Permission to access nearby devices is required for Bluetooth enrollment.
• Contacts: Contacts permission is needed for signing in with a Samsung Account.

If your system software version is lower than Android 6.0, please update the software to configure App permissions. After a software update, previously allowed permissions can be reset in the Apps menu of the device settings.
